Our Team's Favourite Resources from the Member Library
What should I watch first? It's one of the first things new members ask. And it's a great question. The truth is? There isn't an obvious place to start. There are over 50 hours of recorded sessions in our library, stemming from real conversations, with mentors, members and external experts, on the topics that our members wanted to hear about.
Some sessions are more specific. Looking to write an impact report? There's a session for that. If you work with indigenous communities, there's one you shouldn't miss. If you're developing policies around child safeguarding or responsible wildlife encounters, we can point you in the right direction. Others are broader, covering future travel trends, the ethics and economics of geopolitics, the localisation movement, and more.
So, we thought the best way of answering the question is to let the team answer it themselves. We asked each of them to share their favourite or most memorable session. It's a small window into what members can access every day through the library and we hope you enjoy some of these insights.

"The Ethics, Economics and Geopolitics panel is one of the sessions that has really stayed with me. Juliet moderated such a thoughtful conversation on ethical decision-making in travel, and the transformative potential of tourism in regions marked by controversy and conflict. Its a complex topic, but it was handled with care and consideration."

"’Child Safeguarding in Travel and Tourism’ is one of my most recommended sessions. It covers the urgent, often-overlooked realities about how children are affected by tourism, and it doesn't shy away from the uncomfortable parts. But it leaves you with practical steps you can actually take in your business."
Maudie
"I loved our impact reporting session with Julie Cheetham. Julie's argument is that data alone isn't enough, it's storytelling that actually moves people. But she's also really clear on transparency, not overstating what you can prove, and developing a theory of change. The session also dives into some great member examples."

In "Adventure Without Limits”, Sophie Morgan makes the case, brilliantly, for treating inclusion not as an afterthought but as a design principle. Our industry is brimming with creativity and resourcefulness, and this session shows what is possible when we direct it properly, like our members Ahipara did when Sophie travelled with them to New Zealand."
Katie
“Nepal is one of my favourite places on earth and I feel so proud to be supporting Phaplu Mountain Bike Club through our grants. ‘Tales from Nepal’ is the session that made our philanthropy feel most real to me. Hearing Ang and Mingma talk about the club's story and its future, you understand exactly why we support projects like this one."
Henry
"’Introducing Our Philanthropy Programme’ is where I'd send anyone who wants to understand not just what we do, but why our programme is designed the way it is. Caliopy shares some brilliant insights on how we built our strategy from the ground up, and its such a useful session for anyone looking to further develop their own philanthropic giving.”
This is just a small selection from a library that now runs to over 50 recorded sessions, covering everything from carbon calculation and supply chain ethics to storytelling, microfinancing, accessible travel, and what an astronaut's view of Earth has to do with how we run tourism businesses.
Alongside the sessions, members also have access to a curated resource library of recommended documentaries, podcasts, articles, films and reports, and a host of member benefits including a complimentary PR and marketing consultation with our partners at Lemongrass.
