Makingtrax Foundation

NEW ZEALAND

Makingtrax Foundation works to make adventure tourism in Aotearoa New Zealand inclusive by design. Founded by Jezza Williams, a former adventure guide and now disability advocate, the foundation supports tourism operators to create experiences that are welcoming and accessible to all, without compromise on quality or thrill. Their work includes operator training, inclusive adventure planning, and the development of adaptive equipment. Makingtrax also curates an Inclusive Directory of approved partners who are equipped to offer adaptive experiences across New Zealand’s landscapes, from rivers to forests to mountain trails. At its core, Makingtrax challenges the idea that accessibility is an add-on. Their model is grounded in practical solutions, deep local knowledge, and the belief that inclusive tourism should be part of how the industry works, not a separate offer.
