Katerre Expedition

BRAZIL

Created in 2004, with the goal of developing eco-tourism along with the Negro River communities, in the Brazilian part of the Amazon rainforest. With its headquarters in the city of Novo Airão, 3 hours drive from Manaus, the departing point of the navigations in itineraries of 3 to 7 nights, or charters, reaching the Anavilhanas National Park, the Jauaperi River and other affluents (Jaú, Apuaú, Jauaperi, Aracá).

The highlights are the speed boat rides for animal watching (alligators, monkeys, slots, macaws) and the interaction with the  the riverside communities – an opportunity that reveals the peculiar way of life connected to the rainforest.

With three boats Jacaré-açu (8 DBL cabins); Jacaré-tinga (3 cabins); and La Jangada (12 cabin), truly Amazonian in their design and essence, commanded by a welcoming, local crew. Katerre Expeditions provides funds to support social environmental projects in the Negro River area that can be visited during our expeditions.
