Join us for a workshop hosted by TCTF Ambassador and founder of Laro Travels, Milo Putnam. Milo is a seasoned expert in ethical wildlife travel, bringing a wealth of experience to guide participants through the nuanced landscape of wildlife encounters in tourism, and the importance of creating a comprehensive wildlife policy that aligns with your own responsible and conscious travel practices.
Following a welcome and an overview of the importance of ethical wildlife encounters in the travel industry, Milo will share his own journey and experiences to wildlife advocacy, sharing stories of best - and worst - practice experiences he’s encountered along the way.
With input from some of our members, we will explore the fundamental differences between wild and domesticated animals, ponder some unilateral guidelines for truly wild encounters, discuss the importance of adhering to regulations and reporting incidents responsibly, and share some tips for capturing memorable moments without causing harm or distress to animals.
We will end the session by thinking about crafting your own ethical wildlife policy - covering what to include, how to share your stance and how we can all continue to be advocates for earth’s wild creatures to best safeguard their future.
