Mega-liners have long been criticised for overtourism, environmental damage, and minimal benefit to local economies, whereas micro and expedition cruises operate on a smaller scale with the potential to foster conservation, community partnerships, and deeper traveller connections. At the same time, private superyachts face growing scrutiny for their high per-passenger emissions, yet are uniquely positioned to pioneer cleaner technologies and higher standards. This session will bring together voices from across the sector to explore how conscious cruising and yachting might chart a more positive course for destinations, communities, and the environments they depend on.
