Panoramic Journeys
MONGOLIA
Panoramic Journeys has been specialising in arranging journeys and film shoots in Mongolia since 2003 and Bhutan since 2007. Building long-term relationships with local hosts and experts, their journeys enable guests to become immersed in these destinations and to have an impact for all involved. At the heart of their operations in Mongolia is Mandala - luxury private camps designed to reduce the need for long internal journeys and limit environmental impact. These thoughtfully designed bases are run in collaboration with herding families, who maintain the camp and host guests. There are no permanent structures, and operations are designed to minimise disruption to the land. A portion of revenue supports local climate initiatives, including youth-led environmental projects. The company also takes guests yet further off the beaten track to remoter parts of the country with their wilderness camps. To further reduce their footprint, Panoramic Journeys actively encourages longer stays, allowing for a slower, more considered pace of travel while reducing transport emissions. Their team works closely with communities to ensure each visit provides direct economic benefit and supports the preservation of nomadic knowledge and ways of life.
Panoramic Journeys have collaborated on hundreds of film projects. The exploratory research, contacts and technical experience gained, is fed back into their itinerary design, allowing them to constantly push the boundaries of conventional travel.
